Revitalize your Mind, Body and Spirit

Derived from ancient Chinese healthcare traditions, Qigong combines coordinated movements, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind to promote physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Our individual and group sessions aim to guide you in harnessing the life energy, or "Qi," flowing through your body, helping you enhance this energy, remove blockages, and promote optimal health. Qiong is often described as "energy cultivation" and is a practice that involves methods to gather, circulate, and apply life energy.

Suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, each session is structured to help you tap into your body's innate healing capabilities. With a focus on slow, fluid movements, deep, conscious breathing, and meditative mind techniques, our qigong sessions can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, boost energy levels, enhance immune function, and improve cardiovascular health.

No prior experience in Qigong energy cultivation is needed. The sessions are designed to guide you progressively through the foundational principles and movements of Qigong. Through regular practice, you will learn to cultivate your Qi, balance your energy, and harmonize your body, mind, and spirit.

Join us at Tu Sun for a revitalizing Qigong session and experience the profound benefits of this ancient practice in promoting overall well-being, serenity, and vibrant life.

"When I was beginning my career as a mental health counselor, my focus was mainly on diagnosis and treating the symptoms of depression, anxiety and addictions. With the new shift towards positive psychology and wellness, my focus has changed. I have dedicated myself to prevention, taking a more holistic approach to mental health, and helping people understand the importance of prevention. Practicing tai chi, qigong and mindfulness are now being recognized as the “third wave” of cognitive therapy, a way for people to avoid illnesses, find happiness, improve their health and increase the quality of their lives."

How do I learn Qigong?

Qigong is taught by guiding you through the basic movements that integrate your body, breath, mind and spirit. The classes are designed to progress gradually, with each session building on the principles and techniques explained and demonstrated by the instructor. Qigong exercises are performed slowly and thoughtfully, promoting mindfulness, tranquility, and a deeper connection with one's self.

What Benefits Come from Qigong?

Practicing Qigong can enhance flexibility, boost stamina, and improve balance, as it involves a series of choreographed movements that stimulate the flow of Qi, or vital energy. The soft, rhythmic movements induce a sense of calmness, balance, and rejuvenation. Many practitioners report alleviation in symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis, hypertension, and other health-related issues. This harmonious blend of physical movement and mental concentration works towards aligning the body, mind, and spirit, fostering an overall sense of well-being.

What should I Wear?

Clothing should be comfortable and loose, facilitating easy movement. Shoes should be light and have a flat sole to maintain a stable connection with the ground. It is advisable to avoid shoes with high arch supports, as they can interfere with your natural posture during the practice.
