What is Progressive Coaching?

Progressive Coaching is a wellness-based approach that will help you identify your personal and professional goals, realize your strengths and potential, and create a plan of action to take control of your life. Using the Path4Change 4-stage model of change, integrates the most effective, evidence-based methods into an effective coaching framework to accelerate your progress in sessions and beyond.

What is a Progressive Coach?
A Progressive Coach works collaboratively on your goal or issue to help you identify and modify what is holding you back from reaching your fullest potential. It is a one-on-one relationship that provides a supportive, non-judgmental space to help you identify want you want, and how to get there. The Path4Change process can then help you use the strategic approaches and tools that I have found to be the most effective to achieve your goals.

What happens in a Coaching Session?
Each session is tailored to you and your goal or issue. In the beginning, we will explore the pros and cons of making changes and then explore your motivation to create a plan to achieve your goals. Once your motivation is high, we will explore known obstacles, alternate perspectives, and new strategies to bring about success. At the conclusion of each session, we will use what we have learned wins and setbacks to determine next steps to achieve the best outcomes.

Do I really need a Coach, can’t I just do it by myself?
Coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations, using a strategy to ensure greater success. Often people do not realize that what they are currently doing is what stands in their way. A Coach can offer objective perspective, to help you see your obstacles, patterns and habits.


How is Coaching different from Therapy?
While coaching uses many therapeutic techniques and approaches, it is not therapy. Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not intended to address psychological issues. There is little emphasis placed on diagnosis, illness or the past in coaching. The primary focus is on looking at where you are today and what you want in the future.


Is coaching confidential?
Everything we discuss will be held in confidence and is not shared with others, not even your insurance.

Path4Change Coaching is for people who want to explore new alternatives and approaches to enhance their efforts and goals. It is a way to find new creative ways to and uncover hidden strengths and abilities to help you achieve new levels of success. Coaching is a partnership that supports you, challenges you, and helps you move forward toward the achievement of your goals and visions. As you discover your path, naturally there will be times that stretch you beyond “your comfort zone” to raise awareness, confidence and your capability to create successes.

Accountability, Insight & Support

Working with me is not just talk, as theory and information are not enough. Everything that we discuss will be grounded in practice. Togther we will develop a way to take small, measurable, actionable, realistic and trackable steps towards your goals.   I will give you all the tools I have to help you stay on your specific path, to achieve the quickest results possible. However the most important ingredient is your commitment to growing and learning as you reach your goals.

What is a Coaching Session Like?

At the start of each session we will establish what you want to work on.  I will employ a coaching style that is open and non-judgmental. I will ask questions to help you discover what is possible, to encourage your own insight, commitment and actions.

Using this motivational approach, I may reframe or provide another perspective on issues you are uncertain about, or introduce a metaphor to help to illustrate a point. I may reflect back parts of a conversation or share insights with you to highlight opportunities for learning and growth. 

Working in partnership, we will design actions that fit your goals, and work at the pace that feels right for you. Actions include thinking, creating, experimenting and doing. We will focus on what is the most important, and identify actions that will move you toward your stated goals , but the responsibility of the agreed-upon courses of action will lie with you.

To manage progress and improve accountability, I will check in with your progress of “next steps” from the previous sessions. This is to improve your self-discipline and helps hold you and me accountable to your intended actions and specific plan. We will then look at any new concerns, successes, or feedback, to determine priorities for the session.
